Participate in a CPA Payment Strategy Town Halls

Dear Fellow AFP of Canada Member:

I have the pleasure of serving as AFP of Canada's representative on the Stakeholder Advisory Council of the Canadian Payments Association (CPA).

The CPA has recently launched a draft long-term strategy for the national payments system that sets forth a roadmap for personal, corporate and wholesale payments until the year 2020. The draft is available for download at www.cdnpay.ca/news/consultation_payments strategy.asp.

Through an extensive public consultation over the next several months, the CPA intends to capture the views and opinions from the broadest possible audience. They welcome your input as a treasury and finance professional and a stakeholder of the payments system in Canada.

Mr. Legault provides full details about the initiative and how you can contribute at a September town hall meeting in a city near you. In addition to attending a town hall, I encourage you to prepare and submit written comments to the CPA no later than August 28, 2009.
